Emily L Banks is an Australian Author currently working on her Debut Novel, an Urban Contemporary Romantasy Thriller Trilogy with Spice and Paranormal Themes.
Emily has loved novels and immersing herself in a good book ever since her Mother would read her bedtime stories as a child. She began writing at a very young age, albeit no masterpieces, but it did spark a fondness for the written word and hence began her writing journey.
She began writing poetry in her teens and progressed to novel writing in her very early 20s.
Her current Work in Progress, Sentinel - The War Begins, being her first manuscript which she began in 2007. Yes you read that correctly.
In 2007 during the "twilight craze" she had a dream about monsters being real but concealed from us by "Protectors of the People". They had no name and no real story to begin with but that dream reignited the little flame and flare for writing that had always been there into an even bigger fire that became what it is today.
The Journey
There were peaks and troughs until she stopped writing altogether after the death of her Mother in 2014.
Years after she decided to continue her work in dedication to her Mother and has continued to do so ever since.
She is a strong Mental Health advocate, having both struggled deeply with her own Mental Health as well as having a keen interest in Psychiatry.
She also prides herself as being a safe space for LGBTQIA and BIOPIC people and has both voices within her trilogy of novels.
Sentinel - The War Begins is the first in the line of three, followed by Sentinel - The Coven of Analock and finally Sentinel - Of My Blood as the final instalment.
Personal Life
She resides with her wonderful Husband in Rural Australia, loves all things potato and is a huge slave to nostalgia.
She adores Cats and has a very spoilt old lady called Ginna (aka Poopies-long hilarious story) who rules the household, but also has a very much loved Jack Russell Terrier x Koolie, Ziggy Stardust Banks.
She's a self confessed ambivert but very much lives a hermit lifestyle, she also has a very confusing eclectic music taste that only other eclectic music lovers would appreciate.
She hopes to have the first instalment completed this year and will then begin trying to find agent representation.
In her spare time, whenever she can find it, she enjoys watching horror movies, playing with her dog and video games.
